From Minute of Minute
From Minute to Minute
In McGuffey's Reader there is story of an old clock that suddenly quiet running. The reason: the clock counted the number of times it would have to ticks in one year-31,536,000 times. This was just too many ticks for weary clock: so it lost its morale and stopped. Later it was explained to the clock all that was expected of it was to tick just one tick at a time. With this reflection, it regained its spirit and began running again. So it is with human beings. Trying to live life in the lump is frightening. All that is necessary is to do your duty moment by moment.
